A Republican-led group is seeking to require the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to adopt new anti-fraud rules for the state’s Medicaid program, arguing the changes would strengthen oversight of MaineCare providers and taxpayer dollars.
Lead Maine, a group run by Maine Rep. Laurel Libby (R-Auburn), submitted more than 3,500 signatures to initiate the rulemaking process — far more than the 150 signatures Maine law requires to allow residents to petition state agencies to adopt or change rules.
