Laurel Libby is currently serving her third term as State Representative, representing North Auburn and Minot. In February 2025, Laurel was stripped of her voice and vote for speaking up regarding a biological male winning a girls’ state championship in Maine. Her vote was restored in a historic Supreme Court ruling, and she remains the leading voice in Maine advocating for the rights of women and girls.
Motivated by firsthand experience with government overreach and the silencing of dissenting voices, Laurel founded Lead Maine to educate, empower, and engage everyday Mainers to speak up and take action on the issues that affect their families and communities. Through Lead Maine, she is committed to building a citizen-led movement that advances conservative values, protects individual liberty, and drives long-term societal and electoral change across the state.
Laurel earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, New York. Her career experience includes working as an ICU nurse at Maine Medical Center in Portland and at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. She also served as a member of the MA-1 DMAT team, with hurricane response deployments to Florida and Puerto Rico.
Laurel and her husband, John, have five children. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and game nights with family and friends.
